As part of the work taking place to deliver the next stage of the Garden Village we are preparing the first Reserved Matters Application (RMA) which seeks detailed planning consent for around 35 acres of natural green space and over 6km of walking and cycling route at Governs.

There is currently no public access to Governs as the land is still in agricultural use.

Plans for Langarth include providing many hectares of green infrastructure, including natural areas, open spaces and allotments as well as many miles of cycling and walking routes and a range of community facilities.

Part of the wider Governs land has been set aside as a key green space for future residents of the Garden Village, as well as existing residents in the surrounding areas, including Threemilestone, Kenwyn and Truro.

Details of the emerging proposals are available on the Council’s Let’s Talk site  : https://letstalk.cornwall.gov.uk/governs-park

The team leading this part of the project are keen to hear the views of local residents before the RMA is submitted in July.  There will then be further opportunities for people to give their views during the formal planning application period.

If planning permission is granted the green space could be available for public use from 2025.
