New employment opportunities
We recognise the need for employment at Langarth and are working with partners to provide new opportunities which will complement, rather than duplicate, existing work and retail provision.
Business space
As well as developing positive links with the Threemilestone Business Park and the Health and Wellbeing Innovation centre, we will be working with partners to provide high-quality workspaces as well as encouraging the development of employment opportunities in other sectors, including agri food, professional services and digital and creative media.
Home working
We recognise that more and more people are choosing to work from home. We are developing live-work housing solutions at Langarth to enable people to do this more easily. These include providing access to superfast broadband to every home on the site and developing work hubs in local centres, as well as offering specific support for start-ups and growth for small and medium sized enterprises.
Jobs
We are working with a range of partners, including Constructing Excellence, Building Cornwall and local schools and colleges, to develop opportunities to build skills and promote local talent and provide apprenticeships as well as strengthen local businesses and develop new supply chains. This will help generate temporary jobs during the construction period, as well as permanent jobs in the future.
