Langarth Health Facilities: Your One-Stop-Shop for Healthcare

Our state-of-the-art health facilites will provide a ‘one-stop-shop’ for all your health needs, including primary care treatment and GPs. These provisions will reduce pressure on existing local services and provide facilties such as dentists, a pharmacy and diagnostic services. We are mindful of the impact of new developments on health infrastructure and are ensuring that new health facilities are in place at the start of the scheme.

We are collaborating with various health partners to develop provisions and bring our diverse range of health facilities to life. Truro primary care practices are engaging with partners, exploring options for increasing provision and developing alternative methods for delivering primary and community-based services.

Langarth’s new health facilities will include GPs and primary care, dentists, a pharmacy and diagnostic services.

We are also working closely with the NHS Kernow and the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust to minimise the impact of the development on the acute hospital and emergency services.

FAQs

Langarth Health Facilities FAQs

We are very aware of the impact of new developments on health infrastructure.

Langarth Garden Village is designed to be an active and sustainable place which can contribute to improving residents’ health.

As Langarth will be phased over 20 to 25 years there will not be a sudden increase in people needing hospital treatment but the scheme will ensure that new health facilities are in place at the start to help minimise the impact of the development on community and acute hospital and emergency services.

What we are doing:

  • Providing integrated health facilities which meet the needs of the new residents and avoid increasing pressure on RCHT and existing primary care facilities, including extra care housing for older people and people with disabilities, retirement homes, pathway homes, assisted living and intergenerational housing.
·       Providing community facilities where residents can meet and interact
  • Providing green and open spaces and mix of play areas
  • Providing interconnected green corridors linking all areas of the site and also providing links to the city and surrounding communities.
  • Providing new walkways and cycle routes for work and leisure use
  • Providing improved public transport, with increased bus services, cheaper fares and E-Bike and E-car clubs to encourage people to leave their cars at home.
  • Investment in Highertown and Threemilestone areas to help ensure local community services do not come under pressure as a result of the scheme.
