Our Timeline

Aligning Past, Present & Future: Your Future-Proof Community for Generations to Come

Langarth Garden Village began over ten years ago, when Cornwall Council took on a proactive role in the planning for and delivery of this integrated, sustainable community. Since then, progress has been swift and in March 2022 LGV was given the go ahead through grant of outline planning permission.

Since then, momentum has been maintained through the construction of the initial stages of the Sports Hub, the Energy Centre and the Northern Access Road (NAR). Throughout the journey, the voices of local residents, businesses, and communities have been instrumental in shaping the masterplan through open feedback and community engagement events.

By 2050, Langarth Garden Village will be fully realised – complete with future-proof homes, state-of-the-art facilities, and vibrant green spaces with 20% biodiversity net gain. Our present actions are cultivating a healthy, thriving environment for future generations and beyond.

Community Development

Your Leading-Edge, Low-Carbon Community Progress: 2024/25

  • Northern Access Road (NAR): works are well underway, with completion due by 2026/27.
  • Primary Road Network: Phase 1 of Fordh Langarth has been installed.
  • Sports Hub: The first stage of the Sports Hub is now completed and is now Truro City FC’s home ground.
  • Tree Nursery: has been established on-site, compromising 15,000 trees that will be utilised across LGV.
  • Energy Centre: Stage 1 has been installed and is now operational.
  • District Heat Network: Phase 1 of the District Heat Network is underway.
Urban Regeneration Scheme

Projected Timeline: Our Roadmap to Long-Term Growth and Sustainability

Our masterplan features five phases, over a 20-year period with the construction of the first low-carbon homes estimated to begin early 2026. An average target of 150 new homes will be constructed annually, with a total of 3800 homes being constructed to provide homes for 8,000 to 10,000 people in Cornwall. The first residents are expected to move in by 2027, with all homes built in alignment with the projected figures outlined below.
