Our aim is to create a vibrant and distinctive new community at Langarth, with walkable neighbourhoods, connected by sustainable transport, generous and high-quality green spaces, with access to shops, facilities and meeting places.

We are working with partners to ensure that the scheme connects with the existing settlements at Threemilestone, Gloweth, Shortlanesend, Chacewater, St Agnes and Truro, with the Royal Truro Hospital Treliske, Truro and Penwith College and with existing and planned retail developments in the rest of Truro. Our plans include educational facilities, together with play and leisure facilities and a new community centre.
We are very mindful of the impact of new developments on health infrastructure and will be ensuring that investment in new health facilities takes place at the start of the development when they are needed.

The Truro primary care practices are already engaging with partners and exploring options for increasing provision, such as a new medical centre on the site, as well as developing alternative methods for delivering primary and community based services. We are also working with NHS Kernow and the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust to minimise the impact of the development on the acute hospital and emergency services.
