We want to significantly improve public transport in Truro and are working with CORMAC to create an ambitious Transport Strategy.

Bus stops will be provided at least every 400 metres along the length of the NAR and our aim is to get closer to every 250m.

The facilities provided at bus stops is still to be finalised but are likely to include provide cycle parking / e-bike charging / seating areas in a pocket park for example to enhance the overall value of the bus stop as a community meeting area.

We are proposing a new bus service within the site but final details have to be determined. Frequency needs to be as high as possible and fares set at a level that will encourage use. Discussions are currently ongoing between the project team and Cornwall Council’s public transport team.

We have already extended the opening hours of the Park and Ride sites, with buses now running up to 10 pm. Work to extend the site at Langarth and provide an extra 600 spaces forms a key part of our transport strategy.
