The proposals for the Garden Village, and wider Policy framework are ambitious in terms of reducing carbon. The application supports the Council’s ambitions and includes a higher than National Policy requirement for energy efficiency of homes. However, it is recognised that there is scope to do more, and the idea of the different grades, Platinum/Gold etc is to encourage developers to consider using a commitment to higher standards as part of their promotion and marketing of their development.
