As the Council leading this scheme why are only 35% of the houses being designated as affordable for local residents and not 100%?

Langarth Garden Village will provide a range of house types and tenures.  The level of affordable housing has to be balanced with the need to deliver other facilities and infrastructure and support the wider ambitions for the quality of development and climate change. A level of 35% affordable housing meets the Council’s policy requirements and is higher than the amount provided by private developers.
